At Zazzle, no identifiable firefighter from 9/11 can appear on a personalized stamp image (copyright issues...), so this stamp shows only the back of a FDNY firefighter, next to his search and rescue dog.  |

Here's the latest addition (see http://www.wnsstamps.post/en/stamps/CZ005.14 ) issued by the Czech Republic to mark the 150th anniversary of the creation of Czech fire brigades designed by artist Adolf Born (1930) depicting, with his inimitable humour, St. Florian (name day May 4th), the patron saint of firemen or " pompiers" as the great French stamp designer/engraver Albert Decaris (1901 - 1988) sometimes styled himself. |

Guilherme Gomes Fernandes (1850-1902) was a commander of firefighters and rescue personnel in the city of Porto, Portugal. Here is an image of a stamp featuring a portrait of Gomes Fernandes in uniform, designed by Portuguese artist Pedro Guedes, printed by lithography, and issued by Portugal on March 28, 1953 as one of a set of two similar stamps commemorating the firefighter's birth centenary, Scott No. 779, plus an image of the portrait of Guilherme Gomes Fernandes which was a model for this stamp's design. - nethryk  |
