From Queensland, Australia. Not the first Aussie birds, but the first from QLD:

Left:
Red-backed Kingfisher (Todiramphus pyrrhopygius)
Little Grebe

Right:
Helmeted Honeyeater (Lichenostomus melanops)
Orange-bellied Parrot (Neophema chrysogaster)
Red-tailed Black Cockatoo (Calyptorhynchus banksii) - my new favourite bird
Gouldian Finch (Erythrura gouldiae)

You were in luck Scifi to get so many colorful bird stamps on one cover You can see large flocks of those red-tailed cockatoos in North queensland, very large, colorful and noisy with their loud screeches.
I received this interesting bird cover today from Belgium with the complete sheetlet of the 2011 Northern Pintail duck.Other bird stamps are 2009 Eurasian Woodcock, 2009 Black Woodpecker, 2007 Western jackdaw, 2005 Cirl Bunting.

nice stamp fifia, in fact all the stamps from this definitive series are pretty good. I've only got a mint set and this used one with a printing error and half a town name :) Can anyone guess what the whole name might be?

How's about the US of A?

An eagle (on a medal) from Philadelphia PA

A great white heron from Augusta, Georgia

and a chicken (Light Brahma Rooster) from New Haven Connecticut

edit - Oops! I see that there are several American entries already. Oh well, they can flock together.

James the intention is to get as many flown birds as possible. Its not restricted to one for each town,city/country. I dont think there's a limit on the map. Keep 'em coming and I expect we can get a bird stamp for each US state if we all search hard enough
here's one from New Jersey
