Pests Such As The Boll Weevil, The Milk-Worm, Rice Beetles...

I have been collecting Mosquitos and now I am interested in food pests. Are there any stamps of them?

Read down the list and you shall find your different insects. There are 197 stamps with misquotes on them and so on for other bugs.

Here is one from Wilmersdorf, West Berlin, 30 May, 1948. It says, "Pay attention to the potato beetle!" It was used for a few years, I believe.

Thank you, John Becker! I remember my Grandmother speaking of the corn infestation and the great potato famine, Ireland. She lived to 97 nearly 98 and remembered a lot.
Thank you, Bookbndrbob. I did not know it had gotten to Germany too! I wonder if this beetle is the same as caused the Irish potato famine? It was terrible as the inside of potatoes would rot and turn black.
