I am currently in the process of transferring a large Canadian collection from a Statesman Album into a Unity Album. I am having a bit of trouble with the 1972 "Terrain" issues. (10,15,20,25,50 cent showing various Canadian terrain) Scott numbers 593-598. According to the album, there are supposed to be untagged and Winnipeg tagged issues. Out of all the stamps I have (around 30), I have only found one untagged, and the rest appear to be general (bright yellow bars on 2 sides, no afterglow) tagged, not Winnipeg. I also have 5 50cent tagged ones, but the album does not have a spot for a 50cent tagged. There is also no mention of a tagged stamp in the Scott book, just a regular and re-drawn issue. Is this an error in the album? Anyone have any input on these? Thanks!

Thanks, that helped sort it out. As far as I can tell, the album should say "general tagged" rather than untagged. It is also missing pages for the 2 varieties of general tagging used, as well as the re-draws, so I will have to dig out some blank pages to make those up.
Next question, I am recording my collection in Stamp Manage 2012, and there are only 2 Scott numbers each for these, one is regualar and one it the re-draw. Does anyone know the Scott numbers or any other catalogue number that show the various taggings for these stamps? |

Are the roman numerals after the Scott numbers something new? My book as well as Stamp Manage only show the a,b,c,etc. versions. |

Scott Publishing assigns the numbers used in their catalogues. These can include 'a', 'b', 'c', 'A', 'B', etc.
Unitrade Associates licenses the Canadian numbers from Scott for their Unitrade Specialized Catalogue of Canadian Stamps. Any additional varieties that Unitrade lists apart from Scott are given lowercase Roman numbers ('i', 'ii', 'iii', etc.).
So, 594a is the Scott-assigned number for the 10c Forest reprint, perf 13 1/3.
Unitrade number 594i is the 10c Forest, original printing with OP2 general tagging.
