After the independence of Congo from Belgium, in 1960, the stamps of the definive serie issued a year later, were overprinted and surcharged. This rhino stamp is a example of different variations found in stamps of the whole serie.

This circa 1910 advertising label of the Peter Milk Chocolate Co. of France depicts a rhinoceros was construction worker.

On July 21, 2011 Ireland released their second series of 8 computer-vended stamps on the theme of "Irish Animals and Marine Life". One of these stamps depicts the red deer (Cervus elaphus).

Then on April 2, 2013, almost two years later, An Post used the same red deer photographic image for a 60c (domestic rate) coil, which was sold in rolls of 100, and is se-tenant in the strip with a 60c golden eagle stamp.

From the Irish Deer Society website, "The red deer is Ireland's largest land mammal and is the only species of deer that is considered native to Ireland. They earned their "native" or indigenous status, as they are believed th have survived our last ice age, or are the closest living populations to the post-glacial native Irish Red Deer."

The Irish/ Celtic cancellation "CILL MHUCRAISE" translates as Kilmuckridge (formerly Ford, or The Ford) in County Wexford.

On November 2, 2017 Ireland issued 2 computer-vended, contemporary-themed Christmas stamps. One shows a snowy scene including an European robin and a red deer (Cervus Elaphus) with lights on its antlers.

Three Finnish forest reindeer (Rangifer tarandus fennicus) are pictured on this March 3, 2003 computer -vended stamp of Finland. It is Michel #40.1.

This June 7, 1994 Hokkaido prefecture stamp (Sc. #Z148) of Japan depicts a Yezo sika deer (Cervus Nippon yesoensis). The stamp was issued in both sheet and booklet format (with one or two straight edges).

These two Latvian "coat of arms" definitive stamps incorporate a moose in their designs. The 3s value is the coat of arms of the Semgallian region (Lat. = Zemgale) of southern Latvia, while the 40s stamp shows the coat of the city of Jelgava, the largest city of that region.
