Because I am a fairly active trader AND I use them to organize a lot of my duplicates from my "specialist areas," I go through a LOT of glassine envelopes.

I'm wondering if any members have suggestions for the best/cost effective ways to buy glassine envelopes (I mostly use #3's) in bulk-- short of setting up a wholesale account with a paper supplier (although I'm open to that, too). By "bulk," I mean I typically buy 5000+ at a time.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance,
Peter

I buy mine from the local stamp store.

You can get them online from a number of sources:

Ebay. I can usually find them around $25 to $35 per thousand, which is around half the price of most of the wholesalers I have seen.

Thanks for the suggestions!

I'm figuring around $30.00/1000 is about right for quantities of 5,000 or more... and then from someone who ships at around their cost.

In doing a little research, I noticed they seemed rather cheaper from straight "paper and envelope suppliers" than from anyone who's related to "hobby."

I buy from a local stamp store as well, 5-13 per 100 depending on size.

Wow, that's a lot of glassines to open/close. My mind is getting carpal tunnel just thinking about it!

Glad you enjoy trading so much!
