That could easily be Australia, all you need is to add 432 ants, and 4,000 flies.

Correction, I see they are dated.

Just a 2010 set of international post issues called Beaches with Australia Post cancelled to order post marks on them. I have heard these cancels called mule postmarks but after contact with Australia Post they reassured me that they produce these cancels as CTO's and cost the same as face value to buy them off Australia Post. There is a lot of false information about these postmarks on Australian stamps and I spent a lot of time making sure my information is 110% correct. I even got my local PO to order some in for me so I could follow the whole system through from the start to the finish. I have a huge amount of sheet stock now of international hard to gets in many complete sets. In our used stamp description area I now use this definition for a used stamp. Quote: Used can mean from 1st Day Cover, Maxicard, by mailing, cancelled to order, special cancels and no gum or cancel etc. |

Cheers Nells :)
KG5, it is not a matter of false information, rather, opinion. I believe these to be cinderellas, the postmarks have been printed on the paper by a machine. If you have written advice to the contrary, I am very happy to stand corrected, but it would fly in the face of reason why Aust Post produce "specimen" opts for high end value issues for collectors.
It is not a matter of who is right or wrong here, but the facts, or at least popular opinion. I'll ask at my next stamp meeting on other collector opinions.
I have a swag of them, and they were distributed by my Cinderella club.

Quote: I have heard these cancels called mule postmarks The correct reference is "MUTE" postmarks, and it just dawned on me the difference. My "cinderellas" are different to yours, mine are cancelled with no date, and I have just spotted yours are dated, therein lies the difference. You indeed have CTO's, mine are Mute cancelled cinderellas. (used in Aust Post propaganda) All cleared up :) |

Thanks heaps for the explanation. Quote: All cleared up :) You sure have Rod! I have now a very clear way to describe CTO & Mute cancels. A lot of Australia collectors are very confused over this issue unfortunately. I am going to try and find out the why for mute cancels from Australia Post. It would be interesting to find out the cost of these stamps with cancels. Quote: mine are Mute cancelled Cinderellas. (used in Aust Post propaganda) How do your examples get the Cinderella description, Rod? |

Hi John, they were produced for giveaway items, to promote youth Philately. I think you got a 2 ring binder, some album pages and these pretend CTO aussie stamps, along with tweezers and hinges. They are genuine Aussie productions, but the mute pmk categorises them as cinderellas (usage) I'll post some scans shortly You are not going to believe this! In a twist of fate, I have a stamp, a mythological figure (bunyip) and a mythological postmark. Not only that, the mythalogical creature is asking the mythological postmark "What am I?" |

The city of Varna is a seaside resort on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast. Here is an image of a stamp depicting a scene on Varna beach, printed by photogravure, and issued by Bulgaria on July 5, 1958, Scott No. 994, SG No. 1081. - nethryk |
