Don't have a clue as neither country is in my arsenal. Several of these unused and one unused with attached reply card. 36 Olympic is unused but canceled with olympic cancel. These will likely be up for trade or sale once I have a clue. Thanks to all.

Last one from Kaschau (now Kosice, second largest city in Slovakia, hungarian Kassa) to Eperjes (now Presov in Slovakia). It is adressed to 'noble Lászlo Tahy de Tahvár'. 'Rokonilag' might mean simply with sympathy or 'from a relative'. This might be checked. If the seal is visible, and the arm is an (one-headed)eagle, holding a spade and a sceptre, it was send from another Tahy. The Tahvári and Tarkői (meaning from Tahvár and Tarkő) Tahy family is (was?) an ancient and important noble family. One Tahy (László, born in 1881 in Eperjes) was a diplomat. He became consul in Bagdad, Mosul and Constantinople (Austria-Hungary). Bw. 1935-1938 under-secretary of state. Dies in 1940. Probably (?) the son of this Tahy László. Any content? Stamp is a 10 kreuzer from 1861, so cover sent somewhere bw. 1861 and 1867 (Austrian post in Hungary).

wadmalatz- Indeed the seal is the eagle with the spade and sceptre. Is this the same seal as used on most early russian stamps? Would the family bloodline be aristocrats from Russia or based more in austria europe. Unfortunatly the cover is a folded one with no contents or writting inside. Strange how covers I end up with for no apparent reason have ties to important government officials. I'm just getting around to collecting more of Russia so not sure if I should let this one go now.

Tried some geneology searches but unfortunatly I can't read nor translate most of what the google searches show. Definatly a noble family name and the seal is excellent and I never would have given it a second notice had it not been pointed out. Seen many wax seals but never with such elaborate detailed crest.

nitro,

I have access to my reference materials again, so let's take a stab at these:

#1 -- Can't tell from the scan because the yellow is hard to see. Might be able to ID it with a closer scan.

#2 -- Württemberg, Michel P37 from 1893, with printing date 22 Oct 1898. Cat value €1.

#3 -- Germany, Michel P128/01 from 1920. Cat value €1.50.

#4 -- Germany Olympic Card, Michel P260 from 15 Jun 1936 with special commemorative Olympic cancel. Cat Value €10.

#5 -- Austria. Don't have an Austria catalog.

#6 -- Germany, Pneumatic Mail Card. If the "K" in "Karte" is closed, it's Michel RP10 from 1900, cat value €6.50. If the "K" is open, it's Michel RP12 from 1901, cat value €11.

#7 -- Germany Hindenburg Memorial Card, Michel P234a from 1934. Cat value €3.

#8 -- Austria or Slovenia.

#9 -- Germany, Michel P141 I from 1921. Cat value €2.

#10 -- Germany Nuremberg Rally Card from 1 Sep 1934, Michel P252. Cat value €5.50.

#11 -- Württemberg. Could be Michel P20/01 (€2.50), P20/02 (€2.50), P20/03 (€2), or P22 (€1.25) depending on the lengths of the 3d and 4th address lines and the type of paper.

#12 -- Württemberg. Could be Michel U24 (€5), U32 X (€5), U32 Y (no price), you 34 X (€2.50), or U34 Y (€8) depending on the flap and gum arrangement on the back of the envelope and the watermark.

#13 -- Already covered by Wadmalatz.

Don't know postcards, but #8 stamp is like the Bosnia & Herzegovina Scott A2 stamps, which were issued from 1900 to 1911

The first is an Austrian postcard from the 1870 decade (I guess), circulated from Tyssa (now, Tisa on the Czech Republic) to Breslau, Germany.

The eighth one I think is also Austrian, with bilingual text.
