I am just getting started checking my German Empire collection with Michel.
Many listings note different ink colors under UV light.
Would these colors be under shortwave, like USA tagging, or black light, like fluorescent papers?

Hi to all

As a Gemmologist, I use UV lights on gemstones, However we doing the course, we were warned that to much exposure to UV light can damage Skin cells, (Sort of like solariums who use the same sort of light) and you should not be exposed to UV light for more than five minutes in any give hour.
Regard
Horamakhet

Is this long wave light like that used on Canada and Great Britain stamps?

Horamkhet, is that for the electric plug in lamps which are much stronger, or the weaker hand held battery operated lamps?

Bayern,
Thanks for the information.
I was expecting the differences to be a little more dramatic given the similar shades listed by Michel.

Horamkhet,
We probably should note the danger whenever we mention UV light, but doesn't it only relate to shortwave? Those are the only lights where I've seen the notice.
As far as I know, the long-wave is the same as the black lights used for parties in my misspent youth.
