Here are some of the round Gold Foil Tonga stamps that I recently got from Phil. They are made of a very stout card stock and are thicker than I would have thought they would be. I noticed they have no appearent gum on the back and the whole back is cover with the phrase "Tonga The Friendly Islands". If any one has any idea of how they would be affixed to a cover I would appreciate the info.

These are hard to scan I tried my best to get them so that the color could be seen clearly.

Below is a retouched photo where you can see more of the colors on these stamps. Thanks MK for making them look better.

Those look pretty neat. Your image was pretty dark for me so I tired to bring some more detail out. Maybe it is just my PC. If you want I can take this image down.

MK that is fine I tried to get them to lighten up so that you could see the color better but I couldn't get it to lighten up and still look good. You did a good job on it, Thanks. I went ahead and snagged it so I could repost it here and I will let it replace the copy I have.

Just too many years of photography combined with Photoshop. You know we could place Phil in the center of one of those nice stamps.

These four, ninety-five cents in Scott 2005. A complete set of 13 including the airs has a CV of $11.95. When they first came out in 1963, speculators drove them up to ridiculously high retail prices that eventually crashed.

They were not primarily designed to be affixed to covers but to affix themselves to the wallets of stamp collectors for revenue enhancement by Tonga's government. Stamp parasites!
