Hi to all

There is an inscription that says engraved in Brussells, but other than the Big B in a circle on the top of the stamp there is nothing to identify the country
Are they from Belguim and what era.
Regards
Horamakhet

Yes, Belgian

They are listed in SG after the postal issues, under the heading Railway Parcels Stamps. They are numbered SG P1277-1294, and were issued in 1949.

I always liked those stamps Horamkhet.

I try to get as many as I can, even in duplication because, I collect the different railway runs of the cancellations.

Interesting way to do it.

How is it done? How do you know all the post offices on the different lines? Is it published in a book somewhere? Or on old railway maps of Belgium or Europe?

I would suppose a line has multiple staps along its route?

Puzzler and All

I used to belong to a Belgian Philatelic Society and picked up the idea from there. Also, somewhere in all of my reference accumulations, there is an old map with the railway system through Belgium, if I can find it

I have a few 100 of those railway stamps to sort too to get mounted -whenever I get the time (Famous last words, I know )

I forgot to mention this in my last posting.

With these stamps you really have two ways to collect them:

One - trying to get as many of these railway stamps with all the different railway runs

and

Two - finding as many as possible of the railway stamps with 'postal' cancellations on them. While these cancels are not scarce on railway stamps, they are harder to get than the railway runs.

Bujutsu, thanks. I had wanted to concentrate on only the hexagon cancels so I think I should research those a bit more myself. Soon. When I get around to it.

Aaaaaah!
