Went through a couple of my albums last night and found what I believe to be the Scott# 47. I would very much appreciate if someone could help me out and verify that I found somthing or else advise me what I've done wrong. Thank You!
Hawk

Hi,
Why do you think you have done something wrong? It looks like #47.

Sure looks like Scott 47 (CV Minimum -25 cents)

Check the perforations for the rare 13 3/4 X 13 1/2 (CV $175)

I think my question should have been which of the Scott#47 is this stamp. It is a Perf.11½ and I believe that makes it a #47c. ($0.20) The oddity here is that looking it up in the German Michel catalog, this Perf. makes it a Michel #29Aa or 29Ab.(350/700 Euro) So now my question is why is there such a difference between the two catalogs? Keeping in mind that I am fairly new to all of this, I certainly would appreciate if some one could clear this up for me! Thanks...Hawk

1919-20 Scott 47 30h red violet Perf 11 1/2 Type IV
"Hardcany at Prague"

Here is my copy of Scott 47 with 11 1/2 perf.

My 2011 Scott Classic Specialized catalogue states this stamp is usually found Perf 11 1/2, Perf 13 3/4, & Perf 13 3/4 X 11 1/2.

No special increased value for any of these above perforations.

Now a 30h "red violet" Perf 13 3/4 X 13 1/2 is 47b with catalogue value $175.

A 30h "deep violet" color with Perf 13 3/4 X 13 1/2 is Scott 47d with CV $190.

My Scott lists 47c as the 30h deep violet color (.20 cents).

Bottom Line: I see no evidence that Scott particularly values the perf 11 1/2 stamp at anything but minimum catalogue value.

I can't speak specifically to the Michel catalogue, but it would seem curious that one would have a minimum price, while the other would have hundreds of dollars for the same stamp.

Maybe Michel "missed the boat" on this one?
It was issued in late 1920 (the last design) so maybe you will find it further along in the catalogue?
Here is a site with lots of info (downloadable as pdfs) on Hradcany stamps.

Here are 3 of my copies. All are perforated 11 1/2 x 11 3/4, not listed in Scott.

However that perforation is listed on Peter's Czechoslovakia site, as are the distinct shades (scroll down a bit):
