And I had to redo the 2013 Supplement to add a page for MICHEL BLOCK 116B, the imperf Pectoral Sheet. I also added MICHEL catalog numbers for the first time. Here's a screenshot: Download link is available here: http://stamphacks.com/wp/?p=957 |

The rework begins! With the ability to use MICHEL catalog numbers, I decided to redo older supplements and add catalog numbers. Well, I figured, if I am going to redo a bunch of old work, I'm going to do it right. So, I made some changes that I think will still blend in with older pages, so everyone is not forced to remount all their stamps. The changes are: 1. The stamps on the page are now in date of issue order (to the best of my ability) 2. Catalog numbers are under the stamp box 3. Date of issue is over the stamp box The typical stamp looks like this on the page: A full page looks like this: Redoing all the pages is taking time. I had 1992-1997 done and decided to release them before things get too hectic around the holidays. 7zip archives of the PDFs and Scribus files can be found on my stamp blog: http://stamphacks.com/wp/?p=971 |

Quote: The Michel numbers should go inside the box. I most definitely want them outside the stamp box, so I can see them after the stamps have been mounted. If you want them inside, you can take the Scribus files and just edit the catalog number style to have white text and they'll magically disappear. Then you can export a new PDF and you're good to go. |

Alrighty then! I just re-released the 2013 supplement again. 2 changes: 1. Date of issue is now included 2. A ton more definitive microprint varieties were added. You can download the file here: http://stamphacks.com/wp/?p=1049Screenshot: And YES, 2014 is almost done! Waiting for my last batch of stamps from Ukrposhta. |

The Michel numbers should have been placed inside the box NOT on the outside of the box. I along with most other collectors in the USA do not go by Michel. Now to use your page I have to erase all of the Michel Numbers. |

Collectors all over the planet use MICHEL numbers for stamps of Russia, the Soviet Union and almost all the former Soviet republics. MICHEL is far more detailed when it comes to these stamps. There are a ton of varieties Scott just doesn't even bother to give numbers to. Heck the last Scott number for a Ukrainian stamp was assigned in January 2014. It's been well over a year since Scott assigned a single catalog number to a Ukrainian stamp.
Plus, we have the sticky problem of Scott refusing to grant me a license to use their catalog numbers.
That being said, I think I'm going to simplify things. Stand by... |

Came up with a quick and dirty solution to "get rid" of the MICHEL catalog numbers from my page. I put together 2 Scribus scripts, one to hide and to show the catalog numbers. Scripts and some documentation are here: http://stamphacks.com/wp/?p=1053 |

And the 2014 Supplement is FINALLY done! http://stamphacks.com/wp/?p=1061Screenshot: Some notes: - The 2014 Europa booklet is a mess. The only way to really mount it is to tear out the two pages and mount them. There is an explanation in the PDF
- This supplement includes PDFs with stamp images, "inksaver" PDFs without stamp images, and "inksaver" pdfs with no MICHEL catalog numbers.
- There were quite a number of microprint varieties of the 8th definitive series. A lot of them have not been assigned MICHEL catalog numbers. I spent some time and figured out what the catalog numbers are going to be, based on MICHEL's numbering policy.
- Special thanks to UPNS member Mark Stelmacovich for providing me scans of the 8th definitive series, so I could see the release date in the selvage.
- Ukraine released a self-adhesive definitive this year. It was sold in a sheet that looks like it was designed for vending machines. My plan is to mount the stamp individually, and I designed the sheets that way. If you want to mount the whole sheet, please leave a comment or email me and I'll whip up a page for the whole booklet.

I'm having one of those "time to make a decision" moments. These Ukraine album pages contain images, because most people can't read Cyrillic. But, since then, I've been able to use MICHEL catalog numbers, helping with identification. Now I'm wondering if it's worth the effort to include images on the pages. Sure, they look nice, but they're a lot of work, and they get covered over by the actual stamp, never to be seen again. I'm wondering if I can just include the Cyrillic text on the stamp and call it a day. For example, here is the original page with graphics: And here is the page with Cyrillic descriptions instead of images: The second page saves me time, saves you ink/toner and makes the file size a LOT smaller. What do other people think? |

I just finished redoing the 2006 Supplement. Blog post here: http://stamphacks.com/wp/?p=1080Notable changes: 1. MIHCEL Catalog numbers and dates of issue have been added for all stamps 2. Added an extra option to mount the Europa booklet opened on it's own page. Pick which one you would prefer to mount out your booklet. 3. The Mickiewicz Square stamp is now just a stamp instead of a whole sheet. I thought it was silly to mount the whole sheet. If anyone wants the whole sheet back, let me know. 4. Added MICHEL BLOCK 57 – Ukrainian Cossack State, because I completely forgot them. |

Enough is enough. Too many changes. Too many problems.
First: the pages use massive amounts of blue ink, rapidly depleting expensive color cartridges.
Adding Michel number outside the box instead of inside
Making customers who do not use Michel to jump through a series of hoops to not have Michel numbers. bad idea.
Change after change after change after change to infinity>
I went back to my Steiner pages and donated your album pages to the local stamp show for a door prize.
