Hello all. I collect US used stamps in a Minuteman album. Recently I've started getting close to filling the album up (Excluding the uber-expensive stamps) and have started thinking about branching out into worldwide collecting.
I've read a lot online and I'm completely overwhelmed by trying to organize a collection. I spend about $25 a month on stamps and I don't want to pay the huge upfront cost of giant worldwide albums.
Right now I'm considering a couple options: 1. Using glassines or a stockbook to store stamps by country until I feel like I have enough of any one country to get an album. It seems like this will take a very long time.
2. Print pages from stampalbums.com as I get stamps and reshuffle the pages in a single album. I like my minuteman descriptions so these pages feel a little sparse to me.
3. Create my own pages. This would be a huge time commitment and I don't really think they would be better than stampalbums.com but it would be a great way to learn about the stamps.
My situation is also complicated by not having a ton of space for the next three years or so until we move to a bigger house. If I brought home 10 albums my wife would kill me!
Any suggestions or thoughts? I've been perusing the board all morning and love the site. Thanks in advance
