Nope. Nothing special there. That's probably about 75% of catalog value for stamps that you can commonly get for much lower. |

Sharksfan11..I took a look at the bidders, and see that two have less that 21 feedbacks. Perhaps they are "Newbees" and have no clue as to the actual value.
I also see a lot of duplication in there, I would not go higher that 5 bucks for that lot

bobgggg, with bidders at 75%- 85% or more and just marching up the bid it shows. Shill bidding is rampant as of late on ebay and even when reported many cases nothing happens. I even wanted to bid with a few dealers with great material and fine feedback but was upped on the bids a couple times and even watched as the lots went over catalog. Needless to say they still have great material but will not get a dime from me. Check his feedback also, when someone has over 400 bids and only deals with one dealer, where are all his comment for feedback. |

I agree with 1775mac, one bidder has placed 234 bids in last 30 days and 77% were with this seller. Another bidder has had 116 bid retractions in 6 months. Neither of these are normal numbers. |

Hi to all
I have noticed here in Australia that there seems to be "A South Seas Bubble" building up again. Speculators are getting into the market, Newspapers are featuring sales of stamps, investment houses are pushing stamps as Superannuation Fund items. The 1970's are returning. I think a lot of people are going to get burnt fingers. Regards Horamakhet. |

I hope shill bidding is not epidemic on ebay. I question myself about that lately bidding on and following auctions. I just check and one winner bidder has a 100% activity with the seller in the past 30 days. Anyway when I watch an auction for a lot or collection I try to make a rough estimate of cat. value and if bids get to high I let it go. So now it's not only newbies who dope the auctions, there is also shill bidding. I think it's the way some sellers found to be sure not to let go a collection for a low bid. They dope the auction with shill bids and hope to have followers and let it go at a high price. It's kind of stinky. |
