The ebay link is a great example of how much Cinderellas can fetch these days. This is a set of 4 [one is missing] and already the price is over $18 ! Quite amazing. |

Seeing the bids on the incomplete London set makes me feel pretty good about my Helsinkis. One day, London will be mine as well. Bwwa-ha-ha-ha! (but not today.) |

I once put this sets of Olympic Cinderella on auction. I'm not a Cinderella collector. For me there not like real stamps. Anyway the set went for $7 in 2010 and I paid less than that. It seems like today there can be a frenzy for anything. https://goscf.com/t/10170&SearchTerms=olympicOups, mine were not the same as huckles. The ones I auctionned where for the cancelled 1940 Olympics. |

Check out Feldman's Olympic auctions next time when they are in Delcampe. Prices for just about anything with Olympic rings are eye watering. Cancelled 1940s Olympic material is sought after always.
I am an Olympic & Sports theme collector and have to say that fund raiser labels are many times visually more appealing than Olympic postage stamps. I guess since the labels are just pieces of paper with pictures on them, without any revenue value, designers had to work harder to catch buyer's attention.
Olympic fund raiser labels disappeared in the 50s after Olympic coins were introduced for public.

My mistake... they don't look like imperfs, maybe they are cut squares from some kind of stationary envelopes? Here is a better scan: |

This was found in a bundle of 1908 Franco-British Exhibition postcards and labels which cost me £16 in an auction. Olympic Committee strip is not gummed so it seems to be an essay for the labels. I did some research and there is a perforated brown label with identical picture. Has anyone seen these sold anywhere? It would be interesting to know what the strip would be valued at. |

I've just published a set of web pages about poster stamps and labels issued in connection with Olympic Games, including more images and information about most of the items above. *** LINK REMOVED - PLEASE READ THE RULES, REGARDING POSTING LINKS ***
Note that my web site has moved - used to be ".com" - now ".org" - lots of cinderella/poster stamp material there. Regards, Bill Senkus |
