Hi to all
Can anyone give me a SG number on this stamp
It is a 2d yellow Western Australia with perforations of 14 but it has no watermarks.
Any help greatly appreciated.

SG does not appear to list any perf 14 2d stamps without watermarks. You might find this detailed thread of interest:

Hi 22crows
Thanks for the link
It is certainly extensive, but the two pence chrome yellow I have definitely does not have any watermarks and is perforated 14.
I have used fluid, and even a morley-bright,(which I think are useless) and no watermark using either technique.
You never know what is going to turn up. Who knows some-one else may have one.

It may pay do some further research. I can think of two possible explanations:
1. The stamp came from a sheet margin, and missed the watermark. This would require a bit of digging to find whether this is a regular occurrence on some or all of the Crown CC and Crown CA papers used for WA.
2. The watermark is there, but it's just too faint. I strike this problem regularly with some Hyderabad stamps. I know the watermark's there, but I just can't see it for the life of me. Again a bit of research is indicated. One or both of the watermarked papers may be known for weak watermarks. They weren't always clearly impressed in the old papers
