Can you provide a better scan of just that stamp? I'm not familiar with it, but it should be easy to identify from the text.

I can make out "stadt" at the end of the next-to-last line, which indicates that this might be a local rather than a revenue.

Thanks, PostmasterGS... my opinion that is a revenue because an oval cancelation... so, it is most probably an local revenue... "Wartburgstadt Eisenach" is printed on the bottom, and you will probably know what *marke is written on the top... Just done a very good scan:

I don't have a catalog that lists local revenues, but that's no doubt what it is.

Eisenach is a city in Thuringia, Germany. It's commonly referred to as Die Wartburgstadt, or the Wartburg city after the famous Wartburg Castle which overlooks the town.

Gebührenmarke translates as "fee stamp" or "tax stamp", so it's a local revenue.

Thank you very much! I cannot Google out anything with the key words: Wartburgstadt Eisenach Gebührenmarke, so it is probably pretty obscure.

Btw. I never heard for some catalog for German local revenues only... is it from the Michel's edition?

I don't know of a local revenue catalog, so if it exists it's also pretty obscure.

If you have that set,
you have everything
I can bet.

And always, just always
something must go wrong

tries to write a song.

Have a good night and thank you for the help! :)

I think your catalog (I used to have a set) list only federal / national and state revenues, not invidual city revenues.
I the cancel 1922?
