Here isLithuania's February 21, 2009, 1.35 litas stamp (Sc #888) depicting the coat of arms of the city of Pakruojis. Pakruojis (pop. 29,000) is in the north central part of the country, near Latvia.

From heraldry-wiki.com, "The arms were officially granted on November 24, 1993. (The windmill image) refers to the three old windmills that survived in the city."

This June 30, 1989 pictorial postmark of Gifhorn, Lower Saxony, Germany shows a windmill. The postmark publicizes Gifhorn's (Pop. 42,000) International Wind- and Watermill Museum.

From wikipedia, "On the Museum's open-air site, which covers an area of around 16 hectares (40 acres), there are currently 16 mills from 12 different countries (as at 2009)."

The panoramic photo of the site shows that the postmark's "in Der Heide" (in the heath/moor) is absolutely correct.

Hello.
Everyone knows the work of Cervantes, El ingenioso hidalgo D. Quixote de La Mancha.
La Mancha is a Spanish region full of windmills and it is inevitable that they appear in the work.
In the 5th stamp of the sequence on this sheet, we see D. Quixote attacking the blades; it seemed to him that it was a giant waving his arms.
Regards.
