Some White Ace Sample Images from their site:

It looks like they do whatever they need to to get the stamps to fit on the page. I don't know if this can be automated easily. Perhaps something on-demand, where you click on a grouped objrct and run a script to re-position title and description.

Hi,

Very interesting reading. It is nice to know different approaches.
by the way a question I have it is worth of labor to set up..
Database in Access (One can Up Scale later).
I asked reason that when I started making Db, one of the Philatelic
site completely discouraged.
Before my computer crashed I had shown screenshots at that site.
Probably I will have to find out from my backups.

At present my main interest is INDIA, USA, CANADA and UNO
collect INDIA stamps since 1955 rest 1974. Mint,Used,Sheets,SV
Booklets and Blocks.

Cheers!

Note: PostmasterGS I like your approach, apastuzak too.. Thanks

The question of whether an Access database is worth it really depends on what you intend to do with the data, and how committed you are to the initial setup.

I use an Access database to track my collection because I want to be able to run custom reports (what I have, what I'm missing, purchase price, catalog price) at the click of a button. It's a lot easier to do that with a database than it is with a flat spreadsheet or text document. It also allows me one-click access to high resolution scans of my stamps, so I rarely have to crack an album if I want to examine a stamp.

The initial setup is a pain because you have to enter all the stamps you already have. Once that's done, though, entering data on new acquisitions is actually easier than with a spreadsheet or text document.

I'd be glad to help with an Access database if you choose to go that way. I've got a little experience in that area.

I think that's the biggest barrier to entry: the data entry. When you buy a piece of software like EZstamp, you enter a Scott number and you get the picture and some details. If you roll your own solution, you have to enter all that data yourself.

The other problem with solutions you make yourself: once you add catalog numbers, you can't give your database away, which I find very annoying.

Hi Thanks again Postmaster GS and apastuzak,

I started with the intention, to track and keep data of my Collection. Frankly speaking I have read and research on Postage
Stamps including Postal stationary etc. extensively. At present
I believe Database tables are in normalize. Let me show you couple
of screenshots I found it I had kept on Photobucket.

Fig.1

fig.2

fig.2a

fig2b

fig2c

these are at present what I made open to changes.
may be too many fields ? but most of them fill in I am trying
minimum manual entry. some entry is going to be. Later can try
either importing from Excel, Flat file or making temp Table and updating.

your comment are very important to me, and will highly appreciate.
also PostmasterGS thank you very much for offering help. I will not
hesitate to ask question.

Thanks
tikithindi

Does Ezstamp have APIs to pull data out of it? Can you export any data?

Well I think I will stop here further posting of screenshots.
How many Oddities (some will call Error) of missing Star Marilyn Monroe Stamp Issue. Does E-z stamp Mention ?

My point is here to make Database for ones Inventory not the
Catalog. (It may become catalog for that person) also independent of
Propitiatory Catalog Numbers.

I have Errors and Oddities of Indian stamp none of the catalog mentions it. and I do not believe it they did not recognize it does
not exist.Though I did show Type enumerated as American stamps are in the catalog making sections in the listing. I do not plan that way.

Everybody knows Collector finds more Errors and EFOs.

Cheers!

I like rod222's approach too,now a days most collectors scan and make folder of these Items (stamps or related to postage stamps).
It could be e.g single,pair,strip,block,SV.. any layout.
These could be track even by spreadsheet too.

cheers!

Hi CindyCan2! I´m from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and I was thinking if it would be possible for you to send me a PPT file with one of your stamp album templates. They are simply great!! Thanks a lot! Daniel.
