Anyone have any idea if these are still made and if so where I can get some? I refer to the ones that are 3 ring punched (not tabbed). They used to come with a black paper insert. I have checked with Golden Valley, subway, etc, maybe my search skills are lacking- I cannot seem to see that they carry them anymore. ebay lists some of the punched ones, mostly by Avery. That is what I use now. I am worried about how 'archival' these are. I use mounts on my stamps/covers but even with those I note I am getting an offset discoloration from where the plastic meets the mounts.

Probably this is like stamp hinges, no one makes good ones anymore. Anyone using these and if so where do you buy them? Thanks.

I know what you are taking about - they had a "flap" which rounded to the back o the hole-punched side. Look at C-Line Clear Traditional Heavyweight protectors - I do not know if they have the black insert.

I use the exact same things -

I bought a large supply of these a while back. Hope it helps:
"K&M from Avery" "50 pack Sheet Protectors for 3-hole punched inserts" "Side loading 3-hole"
the black mounting sheet was included but I didn't trust the archival quality of it so I separately bought some archival safe black paper from Michael's craft store.

The bonanza.com link is exactly what I had in mind, however looks like they just have one in stock.

I did locate something that looked promising on Amazon.com, those are listed as 'poly' protectors, claim to be archival (dont they all?), but am not sure I trust that. The Averys I am using say they are but they have the oily feel of something that could hurt stamps and covers.

Strange these used to be very easy to find, guess no one uses them anymore. I do, for my US collection on mystic Heirloom pages.

Avery sells them, you can find them at any office depot or type of office supply store. They are nice and archival quality.
