These stamps came with a batch of Russian stamps.
I can't find them in my Michel catalog.
Any help appreciated!

The first one is overprinted on an unissued Ukraine stamp showing Simon Petlyura, the head of the Ukrainian government.

I'm afraid I don't know anything about these UPP overprints. I have 11 different ones: 1000, 1500 & 2000 on the 10hr, 2500, 4000 & 5000 on the 20hr, and 6000, 10000, 15000, 20000 and 25000 on the 40hr with all on the perforated versions of the stamps.

The only "UPP" reference I've seen is to the Ukrainian Labour Party so it might be a propaganda label. However, I'd guess it's probably a bogus creation for sale to collectors.

The second is an overprint on an unissued Russian Civil War "Western Army" issue which operated in the Baltic region. It was nominally a "white" anti-communist Russian army but was backed by Germany and spent much of its time invading Latvia rather than fighting the Red Army. The overprint says "Unity and Liberty" and seems even less authorised than the original issue.

The third stamp is an issued stamp from the Trancaucasian Federation, SG 5 / Scott #18, from 1923.

Other members beat me to the punch for identifying these.

The only other input I can offer is that the first two stamps you have scanned were never issued, to the best of my knowledge (?)

I have questioned a very knowledgeable colleague
in reference to the UPP overprint Ukraine
I don't have his permission to post his full response
but both his references are Ukraine publications.

Both agree that is from an 11 stamp set issued by an exile government in 1923.
But one source says they were issued in Vienna while the other says Warsaw.
