I found this in the WW book we borrowed from the stamp store. It is MNH. Needless to say I am buying this one for 10 cents! I never heard of this so I googled it and found a very interesting story behind it. You can go to the link to read about it. http://www.wichitastampclub.org/Rat...akeIsle.htmlThis is so neat! I just love stamp collecting. rockin

Rockinrobin.. I am sure that Tambling Londonbus will be drooling, all over his keyboard, when he sees that stamp.

Thanks bobgggg and philb. I am having fun going through the WW right now. The stamps are on separate pages in a bag. A lot of them are mint, but have a tab. Unfortunately someone let the pages get damp, and now a lot of them are stuck to the pages. I will still be getting a ton of stamps out of this.

Dumb question: What is VVVV? That is as close as I can get on the keyboard to the symbol in the posts. It looks like 4 "v's" or 2 "w's" together. |

Jim as soon as I reach my 50 posts I have over 800 Aussie first day covers and I would like to share a few with the forum,I have one that was posted(with a red 2p and a blue 3p Sydney Harbour Bridge stamps)on the Sydney Harbour Bridge on opening day celebrations and it has a small ink stain bottom right corner but still has eye appeal regards mate |

Thanks desertgem for postng. I figured that someone here might have seen this before. Now I have a question...would this be in a Scott's catalogue? I am planning on putting this an a separate page along with the info I found, and would like to put a stamp # with it. Thanks rockin |

No, it is Iolite, about 1/50th the value :) but almost the same properties except when Tanzanite is heated to make commercial stones, they turn a better blue ! But I like the way Iolite cuts. This is a 23 ct piece as I recall, still not cut Jim |
