The numbers on the glassines. Any with numbers from 393 back to 1 are pre decimal in Scott, and numbers from 381 back to 1 are Gibbons.
I collect Australia and pre-decimal are my specialty. I use both Scott and Gibbons catalogs. I also use ACSC,(Australian Commonwealth Specialists Catalogue) You picked a good country to collect. I also collected U.S. for 40 years and wanted to add another country. I also added Papua New Guinea. I think you will enjoy collecting Australia.

ncbuckeye, I am a specialised collector of Australian stamps from 1937 - 1966. Even though I have KG V and Victorian stamps, my experience is KG VI. I might be able to lend assistance as well, the catalogue I use is the ACSC (Australian Commonwealth Specialists' Catalogue (all new issues).
