I am having a lot of trouble listing and I am not sure whether or not it is an ebay issue or my computer is playing up.

Any discernment is gratefully received. The issues are as follows.

The big pain in the backside is when listing, much time and care is put into a title description but when you press the to list button it disappears and the previous title description doubles up in its place. I have had to resort to copy and pasting all my title descriptions to help with this very annoying problem.

This problem is so bad in the description area I now only use a standard repeat description for the same type of listings that is very general indeed. To me to have this area in the listing as useless is just such a big waste.

Hoping someone can shed some light on these issues. KGV

I just listed a few items over the weekend with no problems. The fact that the title is bringing up the previous one makes me think it might be a caching issue in your browser.

I was just thinking the same as Stampvirgin. I use Turbolister, its free, totally ebay compatible, and really easy to do multiple listings for similar items using a template.
Tha only disadvantage is I can't get the free listings on free listing weekends if I use it, but as most of what I sell is a 99p start, they're free to list anyway.

Or if you are on a Mac then Garage Sale is pretty much the indispensable. Much like turbo lister it allows for easy multiple listings and stock management. Not free but one licence is a good investment I found. As for listing I've not seen any issues myself today.

stampgal: You should be able to use TurboLister for free when ebay has free listing days unless the UK website has restrictions. I was able to use it in the last free period just fine and it was over 1700 items.

KGV: What might help you to prevent retyping everything - type everything up in a word processing program, or even a spreadsheet if you have the skills for the latter. Then just cut and paste everything. You've seen my template before. I wrote a very basic BASIC program that creates the template that is used in the word processing program which creates an automatic list with my personal item #, name of country and picture links.

The only thing I HATE about Turbo Lister is that it slows down over a short time when cutting and pasting when you try to go from item to item. There's too much it's trying to load. The spreadsheet view is much quicker and you can enter most of the information including titles there. It's just pasting the descriptions that is slow. If you ever use Delcampe, listing there is a breeze. No slow downs and you don't even need to use the listing program as you can control when things end.

Battlestamps, UK ebay excludes any listing programs from free listing weekends, you can only use the basic ebay listing or I think some of the phone apps. Don't know why it is different, but it is

Thank you all for your help and I am still trying to understand everything so please bare with me.

I believe I am using a template and turbo listing because I have a .com store. Example I will only be changing the image to my listings today and will have no trouble.

After 20 listings the trouble starts with the repeat title description doubling up. When listing a 100 items.......! But if all I have to change is an ID number I have no trouble at all.

I believe I have turbo listing because I can bulk edit all my listings.

It sounds like a cache problem to me also. Or the settings in your browser (Firefox / Internet Explorer / Chrome, etc).

Easy thing to try is to download the free C Cleaner program (cleans drive C and also crap) which will clean out (erase) all your cookies, cache, downloaded nasty bits, etc. Good for when you want to have a fresh start (like every day when having problems).

C-Cleaner is from Puriform here:
http://www.piriform.com/CCLEANER

You could also , as a try, wipe (erase) your cache (history) in your browser settings. Go to Tools (drop down menu) / Options, then look at the privacy and also Advanced tabs to clear Cookies and Cache. That is in Firefox by the way. Should be somewhat similar in other browser programs too.

Sometimes, what happens is that everything is remembered (especially if you get your computer to remember passwords etc etc, so it keeps using the old saved stuff you typed in before instead of the new stuff.

Try to keep it all simple as you can.

I type in Word my listing (in HTML (old style)) and then just copy and paste it in List Your Item form on ebay 's listing page. A bit slow but I feel I have more control, which I like.

There are lots of ways to do it, but the main thing is to clear out your cache (remembered history) every once in a while. Happens on all computers.

I have windows 7 and I found that internet explorer was leaving behind a piece of image information and after listing 15 images my computer refused to work with an image. I had to shut down totally and restart. Changed to firefox and have had no troubles.

Adobe Flash Player is up dated. No other needed updating.

Puzzler the cleaning program, clean up 1MB of rubbish.

If all is well tomorrow I will be able to list my normal work load for a Wednesday. I have not been able to do this for sometime. It is a hard day. I like to list over 100 items.

Here's Hoping. KGV

Thanks, Puzzler from KGV's better looking half. I decided a clean~up job on my machine might also be in order even though I regularly clean out my history. 5238MB ditched. Oh. My. Most grateful humble friend.

Well not being able to use my piture files or scan into a file has been a day and a half issue.

Hopefully I can list an image today. The test run worked last night.

Not game to try and test scan until I list all the images today.

The hassles of not being computer savy.

The benefit of learning the hard way like you are doing is that when something happens again you will know you can get through it OK. I forget half of what I learned at least but the idea I can get through it all stays after a while.
