Canada stamps #14-20 are notoriously difficult to find well centered and with large margins. 14 & 15 are quite common and reasonably priced, and yet I have had the hardest time locating high quality singles. This weekend, I purchased an 18 for the bargain price of $15. This, by far, is the best centered and has the largest margins of any of my copies of this series (14-20). Anyone else have pictures of these stamps they'd like to share? Brian

Nice stamp Rileysan As you have already stated, this particular stamp is quite difficult to get very well centered. Some years ago I was lucky enough to get this stamp on a 'front only'. I liked it too because of the "Colonial Packet" transportation cancellation that is also applied. I literally stole this stamp for just $10.00 out of a dealer's box. I guess it was that low because it is a front only but it is still hard to get this way. Chimo Bujutsu |

Rileysan: I have seven of Canada Scott#18. I thought perhaps one of mine might surpass yours but on checking each has one bad edge with one having two bad edges. |

Stamporator, your collection looks so much like mine! Up til now, I've had to settle for sound, "face-free" cancellations.
A member of my local club likes to bring his latest acquisitions to me for show & tell. He purchased a graded #14, Extra-fine/superb 95 Jumbo that he paid $300. Based on my experiences, that sounded like a bargain. There just isn't that many out there!

Jack, yours is better than average for sure! If I could find the remainder of the set in that condition, I might be content for awhile. |

Stamporator: my eyes aren't that good anymore but does the description on your stamp page for the beaver Canada Scott#15 show 3c rather than 5c. |

Here's my first cents collections, I think I've shown before. Just missing the #16 black brown and #20 which is on my most wanted list. |

Well here's an update, just over 3 years later! Managed to snag a nice #20 tonight at a Maresch auction in Toronto. I did get one before, but it has a thin, so tonights win is an upgrade (for what I paid, it'd better be!) |
