Canada Stamps (#14-20)

jamesw, there is no Scott 16 there. The first is Scott 17e, the 2nd printing after Scott 16. The 2nd stamp is Plate Position 3 (String of Pearls variety) and the 3rd stamp has some odd marks at the lower right, prbably an inking error.

This is Scott 16 but I don't have a very well centered copy.

Top row left to Right: 16Pi black brown, 17 red lilac shade Imprint and "String of Pearls", 17TCi brownish purple with "C" Flaw, dark lilac brown, brown shade "String of Pearls".

Bottom row left to right: 16 black brown (certified), 17 red lilac shade, 17a violet shade "Double Epaulette", 17a violet shade. 17b brown (dark shade, certified)

There are unlimited shades and I don't have every color in my collection but this might help you with getting a feel for the colors that are available. I just classify these stamps by the general number of 16 or 17 and group them into shades.

I honestly have alot of these stamps. Now I'm sure that there are many collectors who have more than me. But it's pretty hard for me to pick out a few of these to show but I'll give it a go.

Now you know why there are so few of them out there that are well centered ... because we bought them all ! :-)

Crikey, these are all amazing. I admittedly have a problem differentiating a 16 from a blackish 17.

A #16 will be perforation 11.75 X 11.75. #17 will have various perforations usually 12 x 11.75 or !2 X 12, with the exception of some 17b's and 17i deep red purple 2nd printing which are 11.75 X 11.75.

Watermark, can you point out what the C flaw is? I have difficulty identifying it from your 17TCi.
