Now that I finally have my computer back, here's an update to the software I was working on with apastuszak in this thread. It allows you to generate pages pretty quickly in Publisher, and now functions without having to own a copy of Access. Video demo is here. For best viewing blow it up to full screen and set the quality to 720p or higher.

Very nicely done, looks like it easy to use. Great little video on it too. |

This is nothing short of fantastic! A very well done to you and Andy. I'm going to download and start playing with it immediately. Have you given any thought to having Scott number automatically import? I have both applications ... Is there any advantage to having Access? Added comment: errr ... Ok, where's the download? |

An utterly amazing development achievement! Will you be making the program available? |

Sorry about that. I was posting late at night and forgot the links.
If you have Access (32-bit) installed -- Link removed If you don't have Access (32-bit) installed -- Link removed
If you have 64-bit, have patience. I'm working on converting it.
Some basic tips:
1. Make sure your Publisher document is open to the page you want the stuff inserted onto before clicking "Generate" 2. The margins are measured from the frame to the edges of the text boxes, not the text itself. So, if the spacing's not right, you might have to play with the margins a little. It's generally not an issue except with larger fonts (like the Titles) which require a lot more dead space in the text boxes. |

Perhaps I phrased that incorrectly. You have to enter the Scott # in you data fields to grab the Mystic images. Since its already there, it seems having a check block to print it on the album page like the other data elements would be a nice function ... or is it there and I missed it?
So ... I'm windows 7 64-bit with 64-bit MS Office. If I download thev176mb version, do you think it will work?
Oh, and thanks very much for making this available. ... Cal |

Okay. You meant printing the catalog number on the page. I'm working on that for the next version.
I'm not sure if it'll work or not. I packaged the 32-bit Access Developer Extensions with the big version, so theoretically it shouldn't matter that your installed Access is 64-bit. If your Publisher is 64-bit...???
If you run it and it kicks a bunch or errors, I guess we'll know! |

It did not work in 64-bit Windows. He does know what the problem is, and it completely Microsoft's fault. :-) I'll let PostmasterGS speak for the rest. |

Having 64-bit Windows isn't a problem (that's what I'm running). It's 64-bit Office.
If you install the version with the 32-bit ADE, it (theoretically!) shouldn't matter what version of Access you're running, as the program should use the 32-bit ADE instead of Access. But of course, Publisher may still be a problem. |

Looks like it only works in 32-bit, and it doesn't like any version of Office earlier than 2010. Links removed until I can get the code changed to 64-bit and fix the backward compatibility to at least 2007. |

I've forwarded all the test results I could do given my configuration. Sorry to say, none worked. Win 7-64 and Office 2010 is as close as I came ... only permissions caused an issue there. I'll be happy to test the next version if you can sort out the permissions issues. I would really like to get it to run in that environment. |

Where does one obtain the Album Page Generator?
How difficult is it to master?
What special programs do you need to use it?

PostmasterGS pulled it because of incompatibility issues between different versions of Office (2007 vs 2010, 32bit vs 64 bit, etc) |
