I took some photos on a visit to local Alford Transport Museum recently.


Royal Mail coach. Note the huge side lights. Mail coaches going by night needed those to keep the horses out of the ditches.


An official Royal Mail time-piece which all coaches carried to keep them on schedule.


An official Royal Mail issue blunderbus.


A pair of Royal Mail flintlock pistols with the inscription "For His Majesty's Mail Coaches" on the barrel.
