Could someone tell me what the value of these stamps may be?

One of my friends brought me a a box of stamps that one of her relatives had kept and in it were several of each type of these stamps pictured.

All of them are cancelled and are not on covers.

Any help would be appreciated.

Catalog values in 2008; doubt if they have increased any.

Thanks doug2222. I am still sorting through all of them in separate piles. I am curious as to where he obtained them. There is at least 100 of each!

Also in lesser numbers there are orange ones with "500" on them, blue ones with what looks like a monument with a "25" value and blue ones with a cameo portrait with an "80" value.

Hi and welcome to the forum

In your last posting, the overprinted orange stamp is an 'official' stamp & has a CV of $1.05 in the 2009 Scotts Catalogue (#O28), the 25 Pfennigs blue (#476) has a CV of $1.00 in the same catalogue. The Hindenburg is (either #413 or #430) has a CV of $1.00 apiece. There are two different watermarks with this issue.

At one time, it was not uncommon for every collector to have large amounts of Germany in their collections. They were easily obtainable for a lot of the issues.

Germany is still one of the countries where a lot of their stamps are still easy to buy, with exceptions of course, with the scarce & rare issues. A lot of countries can still be bought in volume for the cheaper values.

A lot of duplication is caused buy buying different collections and each time you do, there are always duplicates and they don't take long to acccumlate.

Thanks for your help. My collecting had been focused on Canadian stamps and then moved on to Canadian coins and currency so I am fairly active in the coin forum and appreciate the assistance I have found here.
