I'm a bird stamp collector, and beneath the BIG BLACK Xs you can see a nicely prepared raptor stamp cover sent by my friend in Atlanta, Georgia. All the stamps are properly cancelled. The big question is...why did someone XXXXX all over the stamps ? Are postal workers trained to do this or is it pure vandalism?
