I can`t find this 16c Labuan with arab&chinese inscription in Y&T catalogue:

all the others (1c / 2x 2c/ 4c/5c/6c/8c/12c/18c/24c) with arabic&chinese inscription I`ve found, but no 16c with arabic&chinese inscr. listed (besides this has green overprint)

According to Stanley Gibbons, the 16 cent value with a green overprint was not issued until 1902. Perhaps you need to look further on in your Y & T.

And by the way, the inscriptions aren't in Arabic: it's Malay written in a modified Arabic/Persian script, known as Jawi

Does the Y&T catalogue explain that stamps with the black bars cancellation are remainders? These are priced separately in SG. The 16c example (SG116) is priced (2011) at £130 used and £2.50 cancelled with the black bars. If anyone is buying these issues, take care not to pay the used prices!

Hi to all

Here are a couple of Labuan stamps where the surcharge has been placed over the postage instead of on the inscription "The state of North Borneo"
Has any-one else seen copies of this variety.
Regards
Horamakhet

Both are listed in Gibbons:
The 12 cent is SG 95 - see the footnote after SG 89-97.
The 18 cent is SG 99 - see the footnote after SG 100.
