Austria "Offices in the Turkish Empire" 1908 Scott 49 1pi deep blue/blue "Franz Josef"
The 60th year of the reign of Emperor Franz Josef I...

The A-B-C classical stamps (To 1952) Game
The intent is to share the diversity and beauty of our WW collections of classical stamps by uploading by alphabet.

I started with an Austrian stamp, the next would be a "B" country, and so forth. One can ignore "x", as there are no countries that begin with it.

When one gets to "Z', "A" begins again.

One might also have to be quick with the scans to get the next alphabet country in before the next SCFer.

(But kibitzing, conversation, and leisurely admiration is encouraged also.)

Ready,Set,Begin!......

Taking advantage of "Germany", rather than "Deutschland"...

Tell me more about the Finnish forgery?

(Edit: Too late for "G", but nice stamp anyway, wouldn't you agree? )

I supose that we're using the English names of the countries. So, let's have Greece (otherwise, it should be "Hellas").
