Veglia - or if you are Croatian, the delightfully unconsonantal Krk! |

Tell me about it! I do however have a postally used copy of the match of this from neighbouring Arbe/Rab. I got it three years ago from the most astute and philatelically knowledgeable dealer in the UK. I know this, because he told me several times whilst I was pulling stuff like this out of his stock book and asking how much he wanted for them. He told me I was wasting my time buying this kind of stuff, which nobody wants, rather than the GB Certain Money-spinner bargains he was trying to sell me, but if I absolutely insisted on wasting my money, I could have them for 20p each. As I walked out of the door with the used Arbe, two mint Arbe large overprints, five out of the six Veglia small overprint values, and a small selection of the general Carnaro issues, I think he was still telling me how astute and knowledgeable he was, but I couldn't hear him very well over the jingling sound in my pocket from the considerable change from my £5 note. |

Xeimappa is in Scott under Epirus, 1914 Chimarra issue. This thread gives a lot of latitude, but I'm choking just a bit on the "x". Full marks for creativity, though. |
