An eight cent Victoria with the octagon cancel of the Bengal Circle, I believe, cancelled in Singapore. Corrections, please, if I'm wrong on that.
SG says that the Singapore octagon was replaced with a duplex in 1865, and this stamp was not issued until December, 1867, at the earliest, so...was the octagon not completely retired? Is this "clandestine" in nature? Something else, entirely? Maybe I should move this to its own thread so as to not derail jkjblue's efforts.
