Was about to quite for the night when I came across this.

The paper is beige in colour and stiff. Of course Scott's says counterfeits are plentiful.
Make my day!

I can't do that, so I'll let someone else try...maybe someone will guess "authentic."

Well, I'm leaning, of course, towards fake. Mine kind of looks like some on both links, plus the C of Correos is touching the frame as listed in khj's criteria.
The paper is what's bothering me. It is quite heavy, and has a natural colour (as opposed to bleached white). Guess I'll always hold a grain of hope.
For the time being it will go in my fake/forgery/cinderella pages as just that. *sigh*

edit- so I just googled this and found the same question on another stamp board. The photo looked EXACTLY like my stamp.
One response was, 'these stamps were made with very short distance between. So the margins must be very short.'

More compelling evidence telling us all what we knew already. *double sigh*

See? It is always better to get the bad news from yourself, no?
