Please Show Us Your Classic Advertising Covers!

Here are there from San Francisco, all sent to Eugene Brown in Mendocino. Looks like American Biscuit and California cracker were baked in the same building.

American Biscuit Company -> now Nabisco, after many mergers and such.

Jimwentzell, that's a great cover and story! Thanks for posting. I wonder if you could post a close-up of the stamp on the left side. Is that a private proprietary? Why would someone put that on a cover?

This 1942 advertising cover featured Gladland News, used a 1 1/4 cent rate for the midwest US horticulture publication.

I like this one, not only for the product ad, but also the message to the postmaster and the lack of postmark.

The corner message also helps explain the product.

... on the pad company envelope. Looks like this was a prepaid return envelope which was stamped, folded and enclosed in the outer mailing cover but never mailed back.

Well, that does make sense! I hadn't considered it. Brilliant...

I thought it just never got sent and didn't really give it another thought.

I just realized this does not belong in this thread, but can't figure out how to delete it. Please bear with me.

I have a few advertising covers I acquired as part of a collection of US 599 coils I put together a few years ago. I will add a few more as time permits.

I couldn't figure out what business this cover was advertising til I read the enclosed letter. I got a bit of a chuckle out of it. The letterhead says it all.

Here's one recently acquired I actually forgot about. A delicate two sided advert cover for windmills, from Beliot Wis.



The Beloit CDS is missing the month indicia, but the receiver cancels on the back are dated Feb 2 1880, so the front must be January 30
