I came across this stamp and can't find a reference to this color in Scotts. I found #21 orange and green and dull violet but this is dark blue. The pic I've posted looks violet, I'm guessing from my cheap camera but the stamp is definatly dark blue.  |

As you suggest it's hard to tell from your picture but I'd go for Sc #104 dull violet.
SG calls this stamp SG 278 slate-violet which looks a better description (at least for the single copy in my collection). |

Peru stationery fragment. (Embossed Arms with the Vicuna, Quinine tree and Cornucopia) Was Mr. Seebeck involved in any of the stamps of Peru? I cannot see any links so far. Any ID if not? Thanks.  |

That is the normal color for that stamp, it is in the acceptable range of color . |

It is better to add different colors to bring out a truer color in a scan . Here are my copies of the Peru stamp .  |
