I came across this stamp and can't find a reference to this color in Scotts. I found #21 orange and green and dull violet but this is dark blue. The pic I've posted looks violet, I'm guessing from my cheap camera but the stamp is definatly dark blue.

As you suggest it's hard to tell from your picture but I'd go for Sc #104 dull violet.

SG calls this stamp SG 278 slate-violet which looks a better description (at least for the single copy in my collection).

Peru stationery fragment.
(Embossed Arms with the Vicuna, Quinine tree and Cornucopia)

Was Mr. Seebeck involved in any of the stamps of Peru?
I cannot see any links so far.

Any ID if not?

That is the normal color for that stamp, it is in the acceptable range of color .

It is better to add different colors to bring out a truer color in a scan . Here are my copies of the Peru stamp .
