Hello everyone..I have searched high and low on the net for this very large AJMAN Airmail Stamp Anyone know what country this stamp is from so I can search my books? Value?? Any help/information on this stamp very much appreciated
It is Ajman. Most catalogues do not list these because of their (potentially) dubious nature. Search "Ajman" or "dunes" here and you'll find lots of information.
[edit: Michel has a Trucial States catalogue, but I can't say whether this one would be in it.]
They were issued for sale to collectors, not for postal purposes. Nearly all are CTO (cancelled to order), and in some cases, the "cancellation" was printed at the same time as the stamp.
Except to a few topical collectors who want something amusing, they are considered rubbish.
