Be aware that there are plenty of forged overprints on genuine stamps from Far Eastern Republic and Siberia on ebay and other online auctions.

Most of them appear to be modern inkjet creations. Here is an example from the Far eastern Republic:

Notice the pattern of dots in the overprint - inkjet characteristics.

Here is an example of a genuine overprint (on a different stamp) Notice the solid typeset printing.

I had previously posted what appears to be an inkjet overprint on a Nikolaevsk on Amur issue here:

it also seems as if the overprint is over the cancel, another sign that it is not authentic.
I have seen many forged overprints and am always very careful with these, especially if the overprinted ones have high catalog values.

Sometimes it is very difficult to see if the cancel is over the overprint. Sometimes the cancel ink does not adhere very well to the overprint ink, like it does to the rest of the stamp.

On the genuine stamp above, the cancel is light, but under a high powered magnifier, I can see some of the cancel over the overprint.
