I wonder if someone could help me with my current question. The stamp I have in my collection looks to me like the SAAR 14a (60 Pfg) with the flaw identified in the German Michel as QII , (Einkerbung im linken oberen Bogen des S) notch/indent in the upper bend of the letter S. I have attached some images and would appreciate a comment. Thanks. hawkstamp
The notch appears to match what Michel shows for the QII, but I'm a little leery because the rarer variations are commonly forged, and the overprint isn't as crisp as I would expect it to be. I'm not a Saar expert, though, so your best bet might be to send it for a cert.
