I must admit a predilection for covers from towns in western Wisconsin.

'Dead' towns like LaCrosse and Eau Claire?

I'm a better 500 player than Texas Holdem. You should go to a Maplewood Stamp club auction and watch Smauggie outbid me. I enjoy spending his money! I still think I should have gone deeper on that box of 600 covers at the last auction, but the vast majority of it looked to be very common. Smauggie keeps rubbing my nose in all the good stuff he pulled out of it. I only saw one cover I really wanted. He has found others.

As pjstamps stated it is Time-Cummins. It was a model D104 in use in Winona from 1910-13.

You probably don't want to play 500 with me. I will bid up the bid until I either get it or you get set. I usually either win or lose by going 500 down. I don't usually lose by the competition actually getting 500 points. I can't help it my 500 partner for the last few years is very aggressive and it kind of rubs off on you. My wife won't play 500 with us any more. But, hey you want to play cards, I'm in. You have been warned.

Russ,
I am intrigued that you knew the time period of use. Do you have good reference material that I can access on this? I bought a large collection of Time-Cummins cancels several years ago that I added to, but I don't know the types and time periods. There are some that I have never seen before such as rectangular Time-Cummins cancels. I have shown them to Smauggie and he wasn't familiar with them either.
