Hello. I have two of the stamps identified as Scott #138 in my books. They are a noticeably different color. I realize that scans can never really tell the story, but does it look like we just have a faded stamp next to a brighter one?

I think so,
the only colours exist are dull green and carmine
dull green and scarlet
The washed out look of the left is common,
the deep green of the left right is very nice,
but your stamp needs some care, it looks ragged.
Do not soak in warm water the green may deteriorate.

Being a one shiiling most would have been used on parcels
the postmarks it seem would confirm this,
both being Parcel or printed matter postmarks.
there is orinary paper and chalk surfaced paper 1905 and 1910
