Labatt's Truck

In the 1930s, Labatt changed from shipping beer by rail to hauling beer by road. Needing a new fleet of large trucks, they decided to combine highway delivery with mobile advertising. They wanted more than the drab, rectangular haulers then in use so they conceived the Labatt Streamliner as a stylish rolling billboard.
The last generation Streamliners were ordered by Labatt in 1941. From http://www.autos.ca/classic-cars/mo...s-1937-1947/

This Austrian stamp promotes the region called the Weinviertel
in English the Wine Quarter.

Most of the wine grown is from the grape type Grüner Veltliner ,
which is white wine.

The windmill which is a landmark of the area is located in Retz
a small town near the border with the Czech Republic.

BTW I have tasted the wine and it is excellent.

This Austrian stamp promotes the Lenz Moser winery
probably the main Austrian distributor and exporter.

The LCBO used to sell this wine here in the Greater Toronto Area
but for various reasons Austrian wines have almost disappeared
from the shelves.
