Does know of any on line stamps collections where images can be scanned?

Or On line Philatelic books that can be copied?

Here are two examples:

Pete, for the Notre Dame rare book site, try:

http://www.library.nd.edu/rarebooks...al_projects/

You'll need to scroll down to find the stamp-related material, but I went ahead and included the whole link as there are many interesting topics they have digitized.

Here are some links you might want to try. Some specialized material here too.

There might be something here for all SCF members to get information from??

Google books ([uri]http://books.google.com/advanced_book_search?hl=en[/uri] has a large number of books that are in the public domain. Used the advanced search to search for books before 1927. I also posted a link to the 1926 Scott's Catalog which has numerous pictures in a another message on this forum.

Excellent website, have been using it for a long time now, thanks.
I started on the books too and will continue as time allows.

I missed you signing up here [age maybe?] but you may see acknowledgments both to you and Graham for the excellent British Stamp Exhibitions which has become my Bible ! I sent him scans of new finds both in 2011 and this year.

Thanks Londonbusd1 - I did spot your earlier, and current, kind words re BSE. It amazes that "new" material from earlier decades continues to be found for British stamp exhibitions.

My collection stopped at 1999, as 2000+ tends to comprise Smilers sheets, Post and Go labels, or such poorly produced items as to be unworthy of collecting. Oh for the days of the recess printed sheets once more.

Hi Glenn, Londonbus1 and I have just been discussing the merits of needing 50 posts before you post any links...

I am not a Mod , it could be because those links have been posted before many times , I do not know.
Need to ask one of the Mods.

It's okay, I was just stirring, something that comes naturally to Australians.

Anyway, just 8 more posts and my training wheels will be off!

Yes, I agree about the Smilers etc. Luckily, I do not include postally valid items in my collection so it saves quite a bit on the modern-day sheets.
Still plenty of earlier stuff to find and it 'aint easy !

Londonbus1....but I keep looking
