Looks to be a local post stamp from Nuremberg for a delivery company. I've seen similar stamps from Berlin.

Regards, Robert

I remember seeing one of these somewhere. They were printed for the Nürnberger/Fürther Packetfahrt company at the end of the 19th century (I wanna say 1895, but I'm not sure on that).

Here's a link to a German site.

There are four different denominations with this design: the site shows only one, the 20pf stamp.

It's from a private mail delivery service in Nürnberg (Nuremberg) that was in operation from 23 July 1896 until 1899. The stamps can be found in four values (5 Pf, 10 Pf, 20 Pf, and 40 Pf). This one is Michel 2. Catalog value legitimately used is €20.
