I wouldn't cut one up, but I might by a cut square as a less expensive option for my collection. |

Like several others above, I collect postal stationary items but not the cut-outs, although I always agonize over throwing them out (and if they are really old, I don't). |

If the only thing of note on the cover is the cancelled stamp or embossing then I will cut a neat square or rectangle out and dispose of the rest. I can't see any point in collecting ordinary addresses, bad handwriting or otherwise blank envelopes. This is just my preference. I realise others may think differently.

Yes, I collect them. When ever a modern new one is issued (since 1925) I order a set plus one to cut and put into my Scott's The National Postage Stamp Album supplement page for cut squares as well as the entires. I like the cut squre for the stamp desigh but I also like the entire envelope for study. |

They're part of the Postal history so why not collect them ? Personally I don't because there are only so many areas one collector can focus on. |

Hi, I tried to avoid them (USA) but it seemed that every album I got from auction had some included. I ended up getting the Scott National pages for them, and got a couple auctions for the cut outs specifically. All of my other USA stamps are in mounts, but I use Dennison hinges on these. Oh, they are cut squares, leaving 1/4 inch or so backing around them.
Ha, now I'm getting several from other countries, and I'll deal with that another day. |

Full postal stationary items for certain countries are quite collectable and make a nice addition to any album display. |

I keep them no matter how they come. I don't cut them aside from trimming them when they're torn or not square. If I have the whole cover, it stays that way. |

Depending on your definition of "collectible", pretty much anything is. Personally, the only time I keep a cut square is if I don't have an example of the entire envelope/post card to add to my collection. I have never bought one, except as part of a bulk lot, and I would be more inclined to give away any that came along rather than sell them. I've even thrown out a lot of them over the years, if I have the entire piece already. |

Just because I have no interest in collecting them doesn't mean they are not collectable, so long as there is at least one person out there that collects them. Anything is potentially collectable. |
