The Stora Hammars image stones are four Viking Age image stones located in Stora Hammars, Lärbro parish, Gotland, Sweden. Here is an image of a stamp depicting a horse carved into one of the stones, designed by J. Magnusson, engraved by Zlatko Jakus, and issued by Sweden on April 26, 1973, Scott No. 954, Facit No. 816.

Swedish mounted courier.

SC#253 1936 commemorating 300th anniversary of Swedish Postal Service.
It's got everything! A horse, a mailman, a postal horn. Plus he's wearing a cape.

Bingata is an Okinawan traditional resist dyed cloth, made using stencils and other methods. It is generally bright-colored and features various patterns, usually depicting natural subjects such as fish, water, and flowers. Here is an image of a stamp depicting a piece of bingata with a gamboling horse in the pattern, printed by photogravure, and issued by Ryukyu Islands on December 10, 1965, Scott No. 139.

Bas S Warwick - Thanks. Although my principal collecting interest is intaglio engraved stamps, I also like artistic and well-designed stamps regardless of printing method.

Horse, designed by Angolan artist Arlete Marques, printed by lithogravure, and issued by Angola on July 26, 1990, Scott No. 792.

Horses, a "discount" booklet stamp, layout by Ingalill Axelsson after original artwork by H. This design was one of four chosen in a competition on the theme "My favorite animal" in the magazine.

Here is an image of a semi-postal stamp depicting a jockey and a race horse, designed by Austrian artists Karl Bauer (1905-1993) and Hans Strohofer (1885-1961), engraved by Rupert Franke, and issued by Austria on June 29, 1947 to publicize the Vienna Prize Race, Scott No. B207, SG No. C191 (per the 1965 edition of the SG catalogue, which had a separate section for "Charity" stamps). I have been advised by 22crows (thank you!) that this stamp is listed as No. 1034 in the current edition of the SG catalogue.
