Hi All,

I've been trying to sort and catalog some used German stamps I have getting them ready to trade/auction/sell. I have a Scott 2006 catalog (PDF) that I had been using. All seemed well until I got up to the German stamps issued in 2006 and later that were too new to be listed in the Scott's catalog. I started looking up the scott #s on the net via e-bay, etc and started seeing different scott #s for the same stamp. Then I saw it mentioned that Scott had renumbered German stamps in their 2008 catalog.
So my question is: Is all my work using the Scott 2006 catalog a waste of time and all the scott nuumbers different now compared to what they were in the 2006 catalog? Anyone know of a free on-line source for current Scott #s for German stamps? Maybe a dealer website that has pictures of the German stamp along with Scott # ?

Any help appreciated...

Dave N.

I think I might still have my 2008 v3, but it is in my storage facility. I'll see if I can find it. If so, I will scan the Germany listings in the Number Changes section for you. Or, maybe someone already has a 2008 handy...

Thanks khj,

I'd still like a source for the Scott #s from 2006 - 2011. I'm in a small town and my local library doesn't have scott catalogs, and I don't want to buy a new catalog just for a one time use.

I think I have most of the vol 3 catalogs from 2007-2011. I'll see if I can find them and compile the number changes for you. I assume you only want Germany, and not DDR?

Interesting; I wasn't aware that Scott had done that.
I've used both the 2006 and 2008 versions of Scott's, but downloaded the 2006 version to EZ Stamp some years ago. I'll take a look at both versions tomorrow. I can only do a sample, since my German collection is quite comprehensive. If there's any variety listed below which you want khj to include, you might mention it to him.

For Germany:

2007 Scott, no changes

2008 Scott --

2009 Scott, no changes

2010 Scott, no changes (except for new item in German States)

*2011 Scott --
77 deleted
new 77b, 111a, 112a, 113c, 114c, 114d, 114e, 187b, 275b, 276b, 340a, J7a, O20a, O21a

*I mark 2011 with an asterisk, because I've looked at my 2011 Germany listing and it has NONE of the changes mentioned. In other words, 77 is still there, and there is no 77b, 111a...!!

I don't have 2012 nor 2013 catalogs (yet).

Hope that helps.

k

Thanks khj,

I appreciate all the input. Got a copy of the 2009 German catalog now so that should clear things up.
