The world has reached the end of its 13th b'ak'tun, or Mayan date 13.0.0.0.0, on 21 December 2012 is the end of the world for the Mayan's. 21.12.12 is the next collectable date for me. Have prepared 8 sets of the 2012 Zoo's issue for this purpose. This set with the gutter tabs.  All the best with your date collecting this Friday. I am booked in at our PO. |

Every one seems to know about the end of this Mayan cycle but the next one ends in about 4047, yet I have heard nothing about that.

The world has changed. There is the sound of a chainsaw that is so loud that I thought someone was cutting the legs of our bed off. It was 5.30am. Heard the big guy down the road just after the silence returned. Nice to have him around. He takes thing personally.
It is OK the sun came up. Looks like the Mayans got it wrong. But forum time there is still 7hrs to go and the Mayan's were on your side of the world. Good Luck fellow stampers!
But then there was a man in Western Australia in the 1800's that convinced a town he could get the water from a source a long way out of town and used a piping system of hollow logs. When the big day came for the water to arrive at the town the master mind said it would take 3hrs for the water to arrive at the township. One hour after his time he give to the people there was still no water and they gave him a really hard time. Some minutes later the master mind shot himself as he could not deal with being wrong. 30 mins after he shot himself the water arrived at the township. The people were silent. And the master mind was dead.
Could never figure it out if this was a true story or a false one.

Meanwhile, here in Guatemala the mayan priests are upset that their religion and calendars are being misinterpreted. But the country is enjoying an influx of tourist dollars which I suspect will come mainly from New Agers. Plus a Mayan short calendar begins now that the long calendar ends today.
Bummer: I am suddenly disappointed that I did not go to the PO and get a post mark for today. I'm sure I can get one tomorrow, though.
